Best wishes, Ms Rownd!

In the middle of her sixth year at JCP, Assistant Principal Carolyn Rownd was tapped by CPS to be the new principal at Taft High School, a tremendous opportunity she couldn’t pass up.Rownd

“Ms. Rownd’s leadership has been instrumental in our school’s continuous improvement,” said JCP principal Dr. Powers. “While we are certainly going to miss her, the principalship at Taft is a great opportunity for Ms. Rownd to move forward in
her career and provide her new school with the quality of leadership she has demonstrated at Jones.”

Ms. Rownd’s last day at Jones is this Friday, Nov. 22. She managed to find the time to answer a few questions from FOJ.

Q: Fondest memory?

A: There are so many….  Freshmen connection, the first day of school every year…  so much energy, meeting the incoming freshmen at our first meeting in April, graduation….  I could keep going…

Q: Favorite place in the school?

A: It use to be the courtyard, but with the new building I really love the library and the lobby.

Q: What will you miss the most?

A: The students, faculty and staff.  They are great group of people to work with and I will miss them so!

Q: What won’t you miss?

A: Honestly …. Open House.

“Thank you so much for all of the well wishes,” she added. “It is great to have all of Jones behind me.”

We will miss you, Ms. Rownd. Best wishes!
